Sep 18, 2017 Too Busy to Exercise

I’m a busy woman.

I run a business that requires me to be creative and self-disciplined. A business that consists of only me.

I have two children and a husband who depend on me to do my share of running a household.

I have friends and family who want to spend time with me.

I could go on, and I’d likely convince any reasonable person that I absolutely do not have the time to exercise today.

Only thing is, it’s not true.

I have the time.

It’s the desire and motivation that I don’t have.

But, I’m off to Pilates class anyway.

And in time, I’ll be glad I did.

Sep 15, 2017 The Kind of Yoga I Like

I love the practice of yoga.

Not the kind of yoga that gets one steaming hot, contorted, and wearing clothes that costs more than I’d pay for a fancy dress.

I prefer a different kind.

One where the instructor is cautious and makes sure that everyone is striving for their personal edge, but not beyond.

One that I can do anywhere at anytime, like the middle of a frozen lake in Northern Ontario as I did last year.

One where I wear my most comfortable clothes, and no one cares (or likely even notices) that they’re a tad ratty.

One that I can do anywhere, even in the middle of a frozen lake in Northern Ontario.

That’s the kind of yoga I love, and that’s the kind of yoga I’ll be talking about at Booth 429B at the Yoga and Wellness Show at the Enercare Centre in Toronto on September 30 and October 1, 2017.

There will also be people there that love yoga that gets one steaming hot, contorted, and wearing clothes that costs more than I’d pay for a fancy dress.

But if there’s one thing that yoga has taught me, it’s that peace of mind and well being are for everyone, even those that do things different than me.

Tickets for the show, which include: classes, shopping, samples, giveaways, and food can be purchased at www.yogawellnessshow.com

Jul 6, 2017 Today Could Be Our Very Last Day. Ever.

I try to remember that every day may be my last,
and that every moment is an opportunity to savor and appreciate all that is.
And then at other times I think …
whatever,
who cares,
everyone should just leave me to my vices cause this could be my last day.

Apr 21, 2017 Body Image Boost

How many articles of clothing do you have in your closet that don’t fit anymore?
I have about a dozen.
Everyday I look at them and I feel bad about how much I weigh.
So today, this very day, I’m giving my body image a boost!
If it’s too tight to wear today, this very day, it’s going to be donated.
